Are You There God? It's Me, Shelly.

I grew up reading Judy Blume books. They taught me about things I was too embarrassed to ask my parents. I cannot wait until Parker is old enough to read the books so I can re-read them myself. Amy just gave me one more reason to love Judy Blume.

I've been re-reading them these past couple years, and I've re-learned some things.

A few years ago I read a biography on Beverly Cleary and I have been dabbling in the Ramona books too. They are great reads, 25 years after the first time I read them!

Go Judy!!!! Woohoo!!!!!

My daughter is reading the books now that I read when I was growing up!!! We've read all the Laura books about five times each, and all the Ramona books, and many (though not all, she's still little yet) of the Judy Bloom ones. I still love them, and I love that I can see all sides of the story now. I still identify with Ramona, and Laura, and Sheila, and all of them, but now I know their parents' sides too.

I too learned a lot from Judy Bloom. I think I should get some of her books for E soon. I like to read the books she reads too, when she remembers to bring them home. Currently she is reading a cool book called Witches. I don't know where she got her like of the occult from? Hope your bronchitis is better.

I re-read a ton of books from my childhood last semester in school. I had a class where I had to read 300 children's books - it brought back a ton of memories!
